Meet WIN’s Esteemed Science Committee

Ensuring the Growth of Women in Science and Women’s Health Research

Ensuring the growth of women in science and women’s health research across the nutraceutical industry is fundamental to our vision and mission at Women In Nutraceuticals.

With our combined efforts, and WIN’s Science Committee leading the charge, we have no doubt our efforts will be successful. The Science Committee is quite fortunate to have gathered an energetic and impactful group of volunteers!

Much of our member networking has been done by word of mouth and individual invites to people in our personal networks so far.  As the Science Committee has started gaining traction in our initiatives including coverage by WIN, and our soon to start webinar series, we are gaining more volunteers.

Science Committee Campaigns

The Science Committee has also initiated a database project to feature a directory of women in the clinical and basic research fields. This database will gather a list of women with interest and experience with clinical trial design, development and administration as well as CROs (contract research organizations) who support the WIN mission. Specific expertise and areas of scientific interest will be included for each listing.

The goal is to elevate female researchers and connect companies who are seeking such expertise.  We anticipate that this collaboration will also bring new members from academia into WIN. The timeframe to make this database public is by 2Q 2024.  A similar database for regulatory experts is planned by the end of next year.

We will also be collaborating with other WIN committees such as the Mentorship Committee and Education Committee to jointly develop specific programs relevant to women scientists in the nutraceutical industry.

Get Involved: Creating Positive Change Together

There are so many things that companies can do to make their organization more diverse:

-First and foremost, start with the diversity you already have.

-Reach out to the women in your organization and ask them – they likely already have improvements in mind to foster diversity and inclusivity!

-Support WIN and support your employees’ involvement in WIN.

-Make room for their volunteering and cover their small yearly membership fee. For information about Women In Nutraceuticals, global WIN events, membership, sponsorship, and volunteer opportunities and more visit us link HERE.
