WIN Member Feature: Meet Jessica Rubino!

Jessica Rubino, Vice President of Content at New Hope Network

From the inside-out Jessica Rubino, Vice President of Content at New Hope Network, lives and breathes health and beauty. Her commitment includes a career that has spanned decades with a focus on creating meaningful content, igniting positive changes and helping to protect the health of people and planet.

We sat down with Jessica, virtually, to get a glimpse into her background and what inspires her as she continues her healthy journey!

Tell us about your career trajectory and what led you to your current role.

Drawn to its people and mission, my career at New Hope Network started in college when I worked as an intern at the company. More than 15 years after starting full time, various roles and countless learning experiences later, I serve as the company’s vice president of content, where I oversee content across our media and events portfolio, including Natural Products Expo West, Nutrition Business Journal and newhope.com. I am also the co-chair of the NBJ Summit and have been deeply involved in various strategic initiatives, including the launch and growth of our content marketing business and our new event, Newtopia Now.

This foundation of passion with a purpose also inspired Jessica to join WIN. “I so admire the work WIN is doing to uplift women throughout the dietary supplement industry. The world is waking up to the fact that more women leaders is good for business! It’s a win-win (!). I’ve been particularly excited to see this awareness grow alongside the rise of women’s health products and research,” she said.

One of WIN’s core values is that, “we embrace diversity and inclusivity regardless of age, race, gender and ethnicity,” how does your organization reflect these values?

This value is core to everything that we do at New Hope Network as we work to create a more equitable health and wellness landscape. For us, this means diversifying leadership across the CPG industry, as well as democratizing access to the industry’s products. We model these values within our organization and strive to bring them to companies across the marketplace. While the industry has made a lot of progress, we still have so much work to do. The call to action here is that we each see ourselves—as individuals and as supplement companies and other businesses—as stewards of this mission.

Why are these values important to you in your professional and personal life?

I have always believed that health is a right, not a privilege and that the supplement industry plays an important role in making this a reality.  Supplements and natural and organic products create greater access to health solutions that can truly transform people’s lives.

Why did you join WIN?

While I have always appreciated that WIN connects women in the industry, what I have grown to understand through our NBJ Summit partnership is how the organization is supporting both legacy and emerging leaders specifically through the WIN mentorship program. This initiative creates personal and professional opportunities for women at all stages of their careers—and lives.

What do you do for fun?!

Work is fun! Outside of “the office,” I am a Colorado girl at heart. I love gardening and landscaping, running, hiking, stand up paddle boarding, cooking and baking, reading and being with my family.
