Celebrating International Women’s Day Today…and Every Day!

International Women’s Day “is a day to celebrate those who have championed the cause before us and a significant reminder of the work that remains to be done to achieve a just and equitable world for all,” said Gillian Fish, Business Editorial Director, The 6AM Agency, and WIN Global Liaison.

“The collective strength of a global community of women acts as a beacon of hope, uniting us to dismantle barriers and forge paths towards inclusivity and mutual support,” said Rajat Mittal Shah, Cofounder & Executive Director, Nutriventia and WIN Engagement Committee Member and Global Liaison.

Social, Economic, Cultural & Political

International Women’s Day (March 8) celebrates the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women. The day is also a call to action for advancing women’s equality.

“International Women’s Day is a powerful testament to the undying spirit of resistance and celebration of women’s triumphs. It calls for a relentless pursuit of gender equity and parity, emphasizing the critical need for a society that values all genders equally,” said Rajat.

The first IWD gathering was in 1911 and has grown to include millions of people worldwide.

International Women’s Day 2024 campaign theme is ‘Inspire Inclusion’. When we inspire others to understand and value women’s inclusion, we forge a better world.

“What a wonderful opportunity to highlight the power of inclusion and the positive benefits it offers to individuals, organizations and the world,” said Heather Granato, President of Women In Nutraceuticals. “Thinking about how we relate to one another, showcase our gifts, and find new ways to address inequities in the world is an important opportunity, and one that we can all embrace,” she said.

Goals

At WIN our goals include increasing the number of women on corporate boards, leading in C-suites and in executive leadership. We aim to expand investment opportunities for women-owned businesses, ensure the growth of women in science and ensure better opportunities for rising female leaders.

“I’ve been fortunate to have worked closely with a team of inspiring women—and men—in founding Women In Nutraceuticals. Over the last two years, we’ve seen growing awareness of the issue of gender equity and how building more inclusive organizations supports innovation and industry advancement. I’m inspired by every member of our organization who is choosing to get active and support change. Together, we are inspiring inclusion,” said Heather.

Fabric of Our Foundation

At Women In Nutraceuticals supporting women worldwide is part of the very fabric of our foundation. “There are different critical topics related to gender equity and women’s rights around the globe. It’s important to WIN to understand the cultural nuances and support the women in those geographies where they need it most,” said Heather Granato. “While the pay gap may be critical in the US, the ‘broken rung’ may be more impactful in Europe, or work flexibility in Asia. We are actively assessing the best way to serve the global supply chain,” she added

At WIN our mission is to empower women in nutraceuticals to unlock their personal and professional potential. We achieve this goal by working locally, as well as globally.

“Transformation begins in our own backyards, one small step at a time,” said Gillian. “By uplifting each other, we foster resilience, inspire potential and build a special connection that can carry us through these disrupted times,” she added.
