Jan Mills started down the path that led to building a wellness-based business on a business trip to Poland in 1989.  Pregnant at the time, Jan was often encouraged to drink aronia juice because it would be “good for the baby.”  She was intrigued.  Six years later, after considerable research and some interesting trial and error encounters, she transformed her passion for wellness into Artemis International Inc.

In 1995, Artemis began developing relationships with manufacturing partners to offer a line of berry-based ingredients leaning heavily on the potential health benefits of dark berries.  Under her direction, Artemis forged numerous clinical research partnerships and became an industry leader on berry-related scientific data.

Jan earned her undergraduate degree at the former General Motors Institute of Technology, now Kettering University, and her MBA at Stanford Graduate School of Business.  Over the years she has served on boards of numerous nonprofit organizations, including the Indiana State Chamber of Commerce and Junior Achievement.

Beyond the business world, Jan enjoys hiking, scuba, skiing and high altitude climbing.  She has three children, whom she considers to be her most successful projects to date.
